State preview

State coverage at a glance.

The preview shows what SkyCanvass surfaces for any state: adopted edition, sample county breakdown, special-zone overlays, climate zones, and common amendments.

What's shown

Six things on every state page.

Adopted edition

The current adopted building code edition for the state, with effective date and the next-edition adoption status (when known).

Sample county breakdown

Three to five counties shown with their amendments — gives a sense of how much variance there is within the state.

Special-zone overlays

HVHZ, FEMA SFHA, WUI tier — flagged at the state level with county-by-county granularity.

Climate zone map

IECC climate zones across the state. Some states span multiple zones (Florida zones 1-3, California zones 1-16).

Common amendments

The amendments that show up most often across the state — re-nail rules, fastener counts, gauge requirements, etc.

Coverage status

Whether SkyCanvass has the state fully indexed (parcel layer + adopted-edition library + amendment overlay) or in progress.

When to use it

Use the state preview when planning to expand into a new state, when a customer asks if SkyCanvass covers their service area, or when you need to know at a glance how a state's code stack compares to where you're already working.

For deep dives, the state preview links to per-county pages and the address-level code packet for any specific property. The preview is the starting point — the code packet is the working document.
